Oh, the glitter! ~ ¡Brillos!

I got a small parcel on the mail last Friday. And when I opened it… Oh, the glitter!

Recibí un paquetito por correo el viernes, y cuando lo abrí… ¡Cuánto brillo!

It was the generous giveaway from Lace Loving Librarian. She had announced a blinged shuttle, and it looked like a Sew mate at that, one I didn’t have in my collection… As I thought, the shuttle is great in real life, but not only that, she also included three balls of size 70 thread in a glittery bag. The thread is so cute, thin and dainty! Thank you so much Diane! Of course, I could not resist, and tried them right away.

Era el regalito que generosamente sorteó Lace Loving Librarian. Había ofrecido una naveta decorada, que por la foto parecía una Sew mate, que yo no tenía en mi colección… Tal como lo pensé, la naveta es genial, pero no sólo eso: Diane también incluyó tres ovillos de hilo numero 70 en una bolsa con muchos brillos. El hilo es precioso, ¡delicadísimo y muy fino! ¡Gracias Diane! Por supuesto, no pude resistir y los probé en seguida.

The butterfly pattern is this, slightly modified: I used a self closing mock ring with a tiny Josephine knot for the body, so I could make it in the other thread colour. And the other shuttle is an Aero I decorated myself, after all the talk about blinging shuttles… I am quite pleased with it, here is the other side:

El modelo de la mariposa es éste, con una pequeña modificación: usé una cadena cerrada para el cuerpo, con un anillo Josephine, para poder usar el otro color. Y la otra naveta es una Aero, que decoré yo, contagiada por tanta charla de navetas decoradas… Me gusta mucho cómo me quedó, acá está el otro lado:

I really like the shuttle, a big bigger and heavier than Clovers and Aeros, it feels great in my hands (and is pretty too!) I am putting it to use right away! Now, what shall I do with the dainty thread… Pondering on that is part of the fun!

Me encanta la naveta, un poco más grande y pesada que las Clover o Aero, se siente muy bien en las manos (¡y está tan bonita también!). ¡Ya la tengo en uso! Ahora queda decidir que hacer con el finísimo hilo… ¡Pensarlo es parte de la diversión!
